When we asked our staff their favorite fitness and urban bikes, the Trek Bicycle FX 7.5 and Trek FX 7.3 were names that just kept coming up. Trek's FX Series of bikes are designed to offer the best combination of road bike speed and city bike versatility. This makes them the ideal bike for commuting, casual weekend loops and for fast fitness rides.
The Trek FX 7.3 ($649, and available in both men's and women's) combines an aluminum frame and fork with a value-oriented component package. This includes a Shimano 27-speed drivetrain and Bontrager wheels. The Bontrager Blendr stem provides an intergrated mount for electronics (lights or computer), and the IsoZone handlebar pads provides comfort on any surface. The FX 7.3 incudes clearance and mounts for both fenders and front and rear racks, for commuting and touring versatility.
The Trek FX 7.5 ($1069, and available in both men's and women's) adds a Bontrager Nebula carbon-fiber fork to the aluminum frame to reduce weight and smooth out the ride. If you are looking for a workout bike, the 7.5 features a performance-oriented Shimano 20-speed drivetrain along with Blendr and DuoTrapS computer mount compatibility. If your need is a reliable workhorse bike, the Bontrager TLR wheels allow you to upgrade to flat resistant tubeless tires. The FX 7.5 also offers excellent rack and fender compatibility and the IsoZone handlebar and grips.

This spring, we have asked all Bicycle Garage Indy staff to tell us about their favorite bicycles, in a number of categories, from our selling floor. Along with the many avid riders on our staff, everyone gets hours of product training from our three major bike brands, Cannondale, Giant/Liv and Trek. Based on their experience and training, they all have favorite bikes and features they like to point out, or in many cases, ride themselves.
