Yes, it feels like we are still in the middle of the calendar year and the heart of the riding season, but the bicycle industry is already working overtime on releasing 2015 products. When you combine this with Bicycle Garage Indy’s challenge to find you the best products (at the best value), that means anytime you come in you are likely to find something new on our shelves. Here are just a few of the new items now on in stock, or on the way shortly.
POC Sports, or POC for short, is a relatively new company, founded in 2004 and based in Sweden. POC built its reputation in snowboarding and skiing, before moving into bicycling gear for the road and mountain biking. Bicycle Garage Indy is now offering POC’s Trabac ($149.99) and Trabec Race MIPS ($229.99) mountain bike helmets. Trabec Race MIPS is the first MIPS (Muti-Directional Impact Protection System) technology helmet offered by Bicycle Garage Indy. We also have the Poc Octal helmet ($269.99) a 200 gram road helmet (size medium), the same helmet used by pro Team Garmin Sharp (and others).
Light and Motion of California is revamping its popular Urban line of integrated, USB rechargeable lights for 2015. The new Urban offers upgraded output levels (350, 500, 650 and 800 lumens), more colors, and a fast recharge 800 lumen model. The Urban series starts at $69.99 for the 350 lumen model. The new Urban series is in stock right now, including new Commuter Bundles that include the new Vis180 Micro rear light with an Urban Headlight.
One of many Kickstarter bike projects you may have heard about, the new Orp “Smarthorn” ($64.99) is a combination visibility light and electronic horn. The handlebar mounted Orp offers the option of either a friendly 76 decibel “hi there” warble, or 96 decibel, jack-hammer loud “I am riding here” warning blast. If you are an avid commuter or road rider wanting to be sure you are noticed, the Orp might be for you.
Bicycle Garage Indy has three locations to serve you; Bicycle Garage Indy North (Indianapolis, in the Dean Road at 82nd St.), Greenwwood (just west of I-65 on County Line Rd), and the Bicycle Garage Indy Downtown, in the Indy Bike Hub YMCA at City Market.
