I think the last time I owned a bicycle I was probably about 14 or 15. I don't think there was time between the age of 4 or 5 and 15 that I didn't own a bicycle. At that time most of the bikes I owned were a Schwinn of one type or another. I still vaguely remember the Schwinn commercials on TV. Well that's been about 4 decades ago.
So I recently decided bicycling would be a great way to spend some more time outside and a good way to get in some exercise. I think I must be getting prepared for summer.
Anyway after a bit of research an idea as to what I wanted and a good amount of time with Bill from the Bicycle Garage Indy North store I chose a Cannondale Adventure 2. He was extremely patient and very knowledgeable. This bike appears to be a perfect match for my lifestyle at the present and many years thereafter.
A lot of things have changed since I had owned bicycles in my youth. The bike I chose has a tool-free adjustable stem and seat, and it also has 24 speeds. I remember the last bike I had was a 12-speed which at the time was about the highest number you could get. Anything you needed to adjust would require a tool of some kind as well.
Needless to say I had a great experience in the purchase phase and look forward to even a better user experience phase. Now if only Summer would hurry up and get here.
I've attached a picture from Cannondale's website since I have yet to pickup my actual bicycle.
