I was riding in the Tour de Cure in 2010, I had only been riding a road bike for about 3 months but had spent many hours on my mountain bike. It rained all morning and the roads were wet. We went out and back on the same route and I had no problem with the S curve on the way out but went too fast through the S curve on the way back and my bike slid out from me. It was my first crash so it scared me and I received some nice road rash but there were no cars on the road so I was lucky. Took some time to compose myself then got back on the bike and finished the ride. I now take it easy if the roads are wet.
